When you think about haunted places you imagine of Empty roads, spooky shadows from the trees and eerie sounds. It will be hard for you to imagine that you will find such haunted places in Mega-City Mumbai.
With more 400 hundred years of modern history starting from Portuguese, the city is littered with many such haunted places that will send a shiver into your spine. But we have listed a few places which are so haunted that you might not dare to visit it.

St. John’s Baptist Church, Andheri
The Baptist Church in Andheri has a tragic history attached to it. According to the story, a bride’s spirit haunts the church and torments those who trespass her site. The legend goes, that an exorcism was organised back in 1977 to remove the spirit from the space, and it ended rather brutally – wails and splashing from the nearby pond could be heard.
And believe me, this place looks very spooky.

Tower Of Silence
Tower Of Silence may sound peaceful and it is dead bodies do not speak. The Tower of Silence in Malabar Hills is where the Parsis say their final goodbyes. The dead bodies are left out in the open for the vultures to feast on.
It is said that you must not venture after 10 PM.

Mukesh Textile Mills was set up way back in the 1870s and is also one of the oldest mills in the city. However, with its ancient history comes its haunting story. Supposedly, following a fire that killed thousands of people working at the mill, the mill had to be shut down.
It is said that anyone who enters the premises of the mill post-sunset is scared away by the souls of the mill workers.

D’Souza Chawl in Mahim is considered as one of the most haunted places in India. The story goes, a local woman from the chawl fell to her own death in the well at the chawl – an untimely event that till date sparks panic among the locals of the chawl.
The rumour is that ever since then the chawl gets haunted by her spirit after the sunset.
Mumbai’s neighbour Thane City also has a haunted place which is Vrindavan society. The rumour has it, a man from the society jumped off the building from Flat No. 66, B wing. And ever since, his spirit remains to haunt and scare the local residents.
With time the tales and incidences have reduced, but the guards of the buildings still report supernatural occurrences.
Aarey Milk Colony
Known as the green lungs of Mumbai, Aarey Milk Colony is the famous picnic spot. But there is a road which is a stretch of about 10 kilometres and it is said to be the home of a woman clad in a white saree who scares the shit out of the travellers.
